From the time of admission until discharge, you will remain on a surgical cart. Blood pressure, pulse, respiration and temperature are taken and then continually monitored throughout your stay. An IV will be started to allow for medications to be administered. Nasal oxygen will also be given.
The anesthesiologist will review your chart and explain your anesthesia to you, (local IV sedation).
When surgery is completed, you will be brought to the recovery room. Your operating room nurse will let your escort know your surgery is completed. You will remain in recovery for approximately 30 minutes. You will be awake and given a continental breakfast.
Discharge instructions will be reviewed and a post-op appointment is within 24 hours of surgery. We hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to ask questions or call our Surgicenter at 248.852.3636.
