TOTAL EYE CARE SERVICES

 At Millman-Derr Center for Eye Care, we provide comprehensive eye care services from basic examinations and advanced diagnostic procedures to medical and surgical treatment for a wide array of eye diseases, including:

 We provide the most advanced medical equipment and procedures to help ensure the proper diagnosis and treatment of your eye problems.  Our state-of-the-art technology includes in-office lasers for treatment of secondary cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma; ultrasound eye measuring devices and visual field testing equipment for glaucoma, optic nerve and certain brain disorders; and sophisticated ocular scanners for retinal and corneal evaluation.

OFFICE VISITS

On your first visit with us, please bring your glasses and a list of medications you may be taking.  You will be asked to complete a medical history and information form.  A complete eye examination takes approximately one to one and one-half hours and includes examination for glasses (refraction) and may include dilating the pupils with drops to enable the doctor to see fully the inside of the eye.  The drops may cause temporary blurring of vision (especially for reading) and sensitivity to bright light.  If you have been referred by another physician, please inform us at the time of your visit, and we will provide him/her with a summary of our findings.

INSURANCE

We are participating providers in the Medicare Program, and we will file the claims for you.  Because insurance coverage can vary from plan to plan, please understand that you are responsible for securing a referral if necessary and for any amount not covered by your insurance.

IN OFFICE SURGERY

Our Medicare certified outpatient Surgery Center in the Rochester Hills location offers you a comfortable, convenient and cost-effective alternative to an overnight hospital stay.  The surgery area consists of two operating suites and a waiting area for surgery patients and their families.  It is designed to handle a full range of eye surgery procedures using the most technologically advanced equipment.

TELEPHONE CALLS

In addition to scheduling appointments, our highly-trained staff can provide you with certain test results and discuss your questions regarding billing and insurance.  If you have a medical question, your call will be returned after 3 pm.  Please have the following information ready, pharmacy phone number for prescription refills, and specific complaints you have with your vision.  This information will enable our staff to handle your call in a prompt and professional manner.

FEES

Office fees vary according to the complexity of your condition.  We will be happy to discuss our fees prior to any surgery or prolonged office treatment.  Payment is requested at the time of service for all non-surgical procedures and may be made by cash, check, VISA, DISCOVER, MasterCard or CareCredit.  Please let us know if financial problems arise.
