Ocular or eye specialists are independent primary health care providers who specialize in the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures. They can prescribe eye medications and fit and dispense glasses and contact lenses for all members of a family. An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor (M.D.) or doctor of osteopathy (D.O.) who manages the complete medical and surgical care of the eyes and visual system. An optometrist (O.D.) is responsible for diagnosing eye conditions and vision problems and prescribing necessary medications, eyeglasses or contacts lenses. An optician makes, verifies and delivers lenses, frames and or contact lenses upon prescription.

Frank N.
Derr, M.D.Dr. Derr received the doctor of medicine degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1969. He completed his medical internship at Harper Hospital in 1970 and his residency in ophthalmology at Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University in 1973. He specializes in cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation, LASIK vision correction surgery, laser surgery for glaucoma as well as for diabetic retinopathy and other retinal diseases and myopia surgery.

Dr. Derr is a board certified ophthalmologist and a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Wayne and Oakland County Medical Societies. He is a member of the medical staffs of Crittenton Hospital, Henry Ford Hospital - Lakeside Center, and William Beaumont Hospital.

Thomas I. Millman, M.D.

Thomas I. Millman, M.D.Dr. Millman received the doctor of medicine degree from the University of Michigan Medical Center in 1969. He completed his medical internship at Sinai Hospital of Detroit in 1970 and his residency in ophthalmology at Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University in 1973. He specializes in LASIK vision correction, cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation. He regularly treats glaucoma as well as diabetic retinopathy.

Dr. Millman is a board certified ophthalmologist and a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is also a charter member of the American College of Eye Surgeons and is affiliated with the Oakland and Michigan State Medical Societies. He is a member of the medical staffs of Crittenton Hospital, Henry Ford Hospital - Lakeside Center, and William Beaumont Hospital.

David L. Falconer, M.D.

Falconer, M.D. Dr. Falconer received the doctor of medicine degree from Loma Linda University, California, in 1974. At Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, he completed his medical internship and his residency in ophthalmology in 1979.

He has received specialized training in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Falconer is a board certified ophthalmologist and a fellow in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery. He is affiliated with the Macomb Medical Society. He is also on staff at Crittenton Hospital, Macomb Hospital, and William-Beaumont in Royal Oak and Troy.

Snigdha Singh, M.D.
Ophthalmologist

Snigdha Singh, M.D. Dr. Singh is a graduate of the University of Michigan. She received her doctor of medicine from the University of Indiana in 1993. Dr. Singh completed her residency in ophthalmology at Akron City Hospital, Akron, Ohio, in 1998. Dr. Singh is board certified in ophthalmology and has been in private practice since 1998. She specializes in general ophthalmology including LASIK vision correction and cataract surgery as well as the treatment and management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and other retinal diseases.

Michael Duerr, O.D.
Optometrist

Michael Duerr, O.D. Dr. Duerr received his doctorate of optometry from Ferris State University College of Optometry in 1995, as well as a bachelor's degree in biology and in visual science in 1991. His experience spans from low vision care at the Sinai Low Vision Institute, contact lens care at the Henry Ford Hospital, ocular pathology care at the Allen Park V.A. and patient care at the Kresge Eye Institute.

Dr. Duerr has been in practice for over 10 years and has been in the optical field for more than 18 years combined. He is certified in diagnostic and therapeutic eye care, and is specializing at our clinic in primary care, post operative care and contact lenses. Dr. Duerr has worked in private, group and commercial practices and has training in post-operative care in cataract and refractive surgeries. He has also won awards for excellence in patient care and contact lens fittings.
